Ground Beams The Hyde
Ground beams are used in The Hyde to support brickwork and blocks. They are typically made of concrete and are an alternative to trench foundations. The method involves digging a shallower ditch, inserting shuttering, and installing the beam reinforcement cage. This will then be tied to the pile reinforcement, if it is present. The trench will then be poured with concrete. This is a great foundation option for projects where traditional trench footings are not possible due to ground conditions, or because of services that run through the foundation footprint.

Precast concrete ground beams The Hyde
Precast concrete ground beams in The Hyde form a permanent shutter around the perimeter of your building, to simplify the pouring of concrete floors. The precast beams are also used as a base to build brick or block walls. Installation of the ground beams is quick and easy, similar to the prestressed panels, they are designed to span between steel columns or concrete pad foundations. The beams sit directly on top of the pad foundations and no additional support is required under the units.
Ground beams in The Hyde are designed to suit individual projects, the profile will vary depending on the surcharge capacity and span between foundations. The beams are manufactured in two profiles, with a toe, so the units will be self-supporting when installed, sometimes called boot-beams or as flat panels. The thickness of the beam can be altered to suit loadings and chamfers cast in the top edge.

RC Slabs
Where we are using reinforced concrete for construction, we can use slabs as alternative foundation to ground beams. Being narrower, they offer a solution where depth might be an issue.
